Songmee has practiced law for over twelve years litigating and resolving intellectual property and business disputes for technology companies. She has represented clients in matters involving copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret misappropriation and contract and business tort claims. She has also successfully defended and settled consumer class actions.
Before joining Marton Ribera, Songmee also led operations of a 100+ attorney practice group as Director of Litigation at an Am Law 100 firm. She brings management skills, strategic business thinking and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to her problem-solving approach. Her focus is to partner with clients to assess business risks and goals in order to advise and execute pragmatic and successful strategies in achieving desired litigation outcomes.
Songmee was distinguished in Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Northern California for business litigation in 2013 and 2014, and for IP litigation in 2015. Songmee received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she served as Senior Articles Editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and externed for Professors Peter S. Menell and David Nimmer. Songmee is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Seventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of California.
