Tecuan Flores provides legal services to clients in matters relating to patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, technology licensing, and litigation.
Tecuan has worked on patent, trademark, and trade secret lawsuits in various federal district courts. His litigation experience includes both pre-trial and post-trial matters, as well as appellate briefing. Tecuan represents both companies seeking to enforce their intellectual property rights and those accused of infringement.
As a registered patent attorney, Tecuan has prosecuted patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for inventions related to software, hardware, telecommunications, oilfield equipment, business methods, and mechanical devices. He has also helped clients challenge patents in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Tecuan clerked for the Honorable Sam Sparks of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. During law school, he interned for the Honorable Lee Yeakel of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Tecuan is a graduate of Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and The University of Texas School of Law.
Prior to law school, Tecuan worked for seven years as an engineer at Freescale Semiconductor and Cirrus Logic. His technical background in computer engineering includes experience in software development, circuit design, logic design, and physical design for integrated circuits.
